  1. In order to celebrate their victory, US President Donald Trump welcomed the Philadelphia Eagles, the winners of Super Bowl LIX, to the White House. As many people know, before the NFL Champions begin their offseason workouts, they are usually invited to and visit the White House.

However, the President, players, and supporters have all made the yearly presidential visits more politicized in recent years. As you may remember, the NBA champion Golden State Warriors turned down President Trump’s offer during his first administration. Twice.

Even though the Eagles were happy to accept the President’s invitation, some of their players—most notably quarterback Jalen Hurts—did not show up.
