Fiston Mayele, a target for the Kaizer Chiefs, might end up at Naturena the next season.
With his contract with Pyramids FC expiring next year, the 30-year-old striker may look to leave the team after enjoying his time there.
Pyramids wanted to move the striker before his contract expired, according to a report from Soccer Laduma this week. According to reports, Kaizer Chiefs made an offer of R14 million to the Egyptian powerhouses, but it was turned down.
This time, the Chiefs have a very good chance of acquiring Mayele. Since he has over a year left on his contract, it is thought that they want to earn some money before he becomes a free agency. Since Chiefs’ most recent offer was approximately R14 million, it appears to be in the R12–R15 million area, meaning they can now afford to sign him.
The source told the publication, “This could work well for Chiefs as they are believed to be increasing their budget at a time when Pyramids want cash on Mayele.”
Tashreeq Morris joined Kaizer Chiefs in January to help Ashley Du Preex and Ranga Chivaviro up front. The former SuperSport striker was hurt after just three games.
