BREAKING NEWS :NASCAR fans are furious as the series names a new commissioner who is an unpopular executive………

NASCAR has a commissioner for the first time in its storied 77-year existence. On Monday morning, NASCAR owners Jim France and Lesa France Kennedy elevated former President Steve Phelps to the role of commissioner in what many viewed as a surprise first. In doing so, Phelps’ position as NASCAR President is taken over by controversial current Chief Operating Officer Steve O’Donnell.

The appointment of Steve Phelps as NASCAR’s first Commissioner fills us with great joy. “His distinct value for the sport is demonstrated by his leadership, professionalism, and well-earned respect from the entire sports industry,” Jim France stated in a news release. Together, Steve Phelps and Steve O’Donnell have over 50 years of experience. They offer a wealth of knowledge, stability, and a dedication to the daring racing innovations that will benefit fans, teams, and stakeholders for many years to come.

In contrast, O’Donnell is not a favorite with the public. After disclosing that NASCAR had employed AI modeling to assist in determining its playoff system, the veteran series executive faced criticism throughout the offseason. In the midst of discussions that NASCAR would host a race in Saudi Arabia in the future, O’Donnell also faced criticism from fans.

Fans also do not consider Phelps to be their favorite. He is frequently linked to the unpopular current charter system, which is the focus of a litigation that is still pending between team owners, including Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan.

“I’m confident this will be well received. One supporter praised the action, saying, “It’s a great idea to keep bad decision makers around longer and promote them. It won’t backfire at all.”

This is a catastrophe for NASCAR! The existing leadership must be replaced! Another said, “not get promoted for incompetent work.”

O’Donnell and Phelps will both take up their new positions right now.
