After he turned down a contract extension from his current team, the Chiefs have a great chance to sign a top-tier free agent.

Following his contract rejection, Kaizer Chiefs are considering a free transfer. Here is the most recent information.

Feisal Salum, a Tanzanian midfielder, reportedly turned down a contract extension with Azam FC, and Chiefs may be close to signing him on a free transfer. The Soweto giants have a fantastic chance to sign the gifted playmaker at Naturena because his present contract is set to expire in June.

Salum has no plans to prolong his stint at Azam, according to a source close to both clubs and the player, which fueled rumors that he will join Amakhosi.

“The Chiefs could sign him as a free agent if nothing changes with his contract between now and June. We know he is interested in joining coach Nabi, but he is thought to have turned down the chance to extend his contract at Azam. According to the source, the Chiefs may sign him for free this time if they still want him.

Salum, who played at Yanga SC for Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi and assistant Cedric Kaze, is apparently still excited to see his old coaches at Naturena.

Salum, who is 27, adds creativity and experience to the midfield. His possible arrival would give an Amakhosi team ready to compete at the top level next season more depth and attacking ability.

The same source disclosed that Nabi is actively looking to bolster his squad with at least two or three attacking players, including a striker, ahead of the new season.

Feisal (Salum) may still play in the upcoming campaign, but it will rely on the other players the team considers for those roles. He will undoubtedly join as a free agent if he doesn’t extend his contract and the Chiefs want to sign him, but a lot can happen between now and the end of the season,” the source continued.

Salum is free, therefore Kaizer Chiefs have an easy way to get his services. But their priorities in the transfer market will ultimately determine the outcome. Will another team jump in before June, or will Amakhosi make their move? We’ll never know until we do.
