Head coach Dan Malesela and Technical Director Molefi Ntseki have been fired by Marumo Gallants, effective immediately.
After losing 3-1 to Mamelodi Sundowns this week, the team made an announcement on Friday. With just four victories in their last 17 league games, Gallants are currently in the relegation zone.
Results have been difficult to come by since Malesela was hired as head coach in July of last year, even though his squad plays a good style of football.
In November 2024, Molefi Ntseki, a former coach of Kaizer Chiefs, was named the club’s Technical Director. The goal of the hiring was to boost the team’s performance and fortify the club’s technical department. Gallants declared on Friday that he and Malesela had been fired.
After struggling to raise its league ranking, Marumo Gallants FC fired Head Coach Dan Malesela and Technical Director Molefi Ntseki, the team announced in a statement.
With only four victories from 17 games, Gallants is currently 14th on the log and is searching for a new strategy. Their contributions are valued by the club, which also wishes them luck in their future endeavors.
Assistant coaches Duncan Lechesa and Sundra Govender will manage the club in the meantime while the hiring of a permanent head coach is completed.
Marumo Gallants still have 13 more matches to save their season.
