EXCLUSIVE : Nabi of the Chiefs remains in the club’s board’s possession….

Nasreddine Nabi, the coach of Kaizer Chiefs, says the club’s executives will decide if he should leave or stay after the current campaign.

Under Nabi, the Chiefs have not performed well this season. And when they hired him in July, that was not the intention.

After stints at AS FAR of Morocco and Young Africans of Tanzania, where he excelled, Nabi came to the nation and Chiefs with a high reputation.

He has failed to meet those expectations at Chiefs, though, since they are no longer in the Betway Premiership competition and he has missed out on the MTN8 and Carling Knockout.

Indeed, the Chiefs have no chance of catching up to log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns this season, and their long-term prospects of finishing seventh are similarly bleak.

Since Slim is still in the Nedbank Cup semi-final, neither they nor their chances of ending their ten-year trophy drought have left the room.

Following three straight losses to the Brazilians, Chiefs will take against Mamelodi Sundowns in the final four of the nation’s top club knockout competition.

And when they go to Hatfield tonight evening to play the champions of the land, they are virtually guaranteed to be in the rear seat due to that deficit.

If Nabi’s squad dares to miss out on the opportunity to make it to the final, some Chiefs supporters think the club should fire him.

The coach, who was born in Tunisia, acknowledges that he is under increasing pressure, but he asserts that the Chiefs leadership now controls his future.

“They observe the circumstances.” Before and after the game, they attend every practice and meeting. They are aware of what we are doing, therefore.

“They notice the circumstances. Prior to and following the game, they witness every practice and meeting. They are therefore aware of our actions.

I will go if they decide that we are not worthy of remaining for the upcoming season. However, I will remain if they believe I deserve to stay.

However, I am present and working. I’ve got a contract, procedures, and goals. I will work because I have faith in my process. Whether or not I have to stay, I am not here to stay.

In a video that went viral this week, club manager Bobby Motaung stated that the Chiefs’ board is still in favor of Nabi—at least for the time being.

Though he is aware that football decisions can alter at any time, the coach is confident he will uphold his commitment to the team.

Nabi responded, “If I understand correctly, you’re asking if I’ll be staying for the next season.”

I must inform you, however, that I have a two-season contract. Therefore, I will not be the one to determine my future. I follow a method.

My processes are different from other people’s, and they consider the outcome. If we think that way, then languages are different.

Nabi may speak French, but for the time being, winning a trophy is the only language he and the supporters can comprehend.

The Nedbank Cup is one way the Chiefs can do that. But in tonight’s (6pm) semi-final at Loftus Versfeld, they will need to defeat Sundowns, the strongest team in the country.

Since his concentration is on two things, Nabi stated that he didn’t feel pressured to win the trophy because he doesn’t think it will be important for his future.

According to Nabi, “the process is about two things: how we play and giving chances to our kids, the DDC players.”

“Among other players, we have played (Mfundo) Vilakazi, (Wandile) Duba, and (Mduduzi) Shabalala. How many opportunities did they have to play for the first team?

If we attempt to discuss the process, how many opportunities did we have to convert and how many did the opposition have? We can analyze something like that.
