Journalist Karabo Pasha claims that Neo Mokoena’s contract with the Pirates is almost finalized.
Mokoena has been amazing to see while he plays for the club’s DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) squad.
Furthermore, the report claims that Mokoena has already been training with the Pirates senior team.
His performances have drawn the attention of Jose Riveiro, who is a left winger who can easily take on opposing defenders.
At a time when Saleng’s future is still in doubt, the announcement of Mokoena’s impending promotion to the Pirates senior squad comes as a shock.
Prior rumors indicated that the Pirates might have exercised their two-year option on Saleng’s contract, which is scheduled to expire in June.

But as of right now, neither Saleng’s camp nor Pirates have verified the aforementioned allegations.
After giving some of their young players an opportunity in recent months, Mokoena’s elevation would further send a message of intent on the part of the Pirates.
Alongside Mohau Nkota, who have both dominated the PSL, Relebohile Mofokeng is at the top of that list.
Riveiro has also unleashed left center-back Mbekezeli Mbokazi and right-back Siyabonga Ndlozi in recent games.
Additionally, Mokoena’s arrival to the team indicates that the Pirates are moving in the right route to develop their own raised children into superstars.
The fact that Mokoena only joined Pirates last year and made his DDC debut in October 2024 adds even more intrigue to his story.
