BREAKING NEWS:Farke’s biggest new headache is Leeds’ early team news against Portsmouth……

Daniel Farke, the manager of Leeds United, has suffered yet another injury setback ahead of Sunday’s match against Portsmouth.

On March 9, the Whites will go to Fratton Park in an attempt to go five games undefeated overall.

West Brom ended the winning run in LS11 with a point last time out at Elland Road, but Farke will be eager to keep things going again on the south coast.

In recent weeks, Leeds has had to cope with a fair amount of injury concerns, but they haven’t allowed it to affect them.

This is because Elland Road’s squad has depth, which has enabled them to keep moving up the Premier League standings.

Nevertheless, without Joseph and Patrick Bamford in forward positions, the match at Fratton Park might prove challenging.

According to a March 5 Portsmouth News story, the one-cap England international is still battling a hamstring ailment and is expected to miss time.

After twisting his ankle against the Baggies the last time out, Farke’s Spanish opponent is reportedly giving him his “biggest headache” ahead of the match against Pompey.

The 21-year-old’s fitness is being “continually” evaluated by the Whites staff to determine whether he is prepared to play against John Mousinho’s team.

It was anticipated going into the season that the former Espanyol player would establish himself as the team’s regular starting striker in the LS11.

However, Joel Piroe has since taken the young player’s place in the starting 11 every week, so it hasn’t turned out to be the case.

Even though it was a risky move, the Dutchman’s effect has been evident all year long, but none more so than his superb goal against Sheffield United.

Therefore, it will be crucial to have the 25-year-old ready and fit at Fratton Park, but he would probably be a bigger miss than the Spaniard.

  1. It will be intriguing to observe whether the young forward will join Bamford on the sidelines or if he can make it back in time for the trip to the coast.
